Strategy. Protection. Solutions.
For your entire family
One way to think of your “Estate Plan” is as a total “Family Protection Plan” because estate planning is about the people you love most. Through estate planning you are able to protect yourself, your family, and your assets during your life and after you are gone.
Believe it or not, you have an estate. No matter how large or small, you have an estate and you cannot take what you own with you when you die. Although the thought of planning for incapacity and death may be uncomfortable, without a plan in place state law will make decisions for you – and it may not be the decisions you want.
Many put off estate planning because they think they are too busy, too young, or estate planning is too expensive. This is why families are caught off-guard when incapacity or death occurs. It is a lot easier for you to take care of things now while you are alive, then it would be for your family to take care of things after you are gone if you did not create an estate plan.
Don’t wait! Estate planning helps you get organized and gives you the ability to decide:
- Who you want to leave your assets to;
- What of your assets you want them to receive; and
- When and how they are to receive the assets you leave them
Most importantly, your estate plan is not set in stone. To ensure family protection as the years go by, your estate plan can and should change as your family, finances, and needs change.
